Slayyyter (born Catherine Grace Garner on September 17, 1996, in Kirkwood, Missouri) is an American singer and songwriter known for her blend of pop, hyperpop, and Y2K-inspired aesthetics. She studied for one year at the University of Missouri before dropping out to pursue music full-time, a decision she later described as an “expensive experiment” that left her with student debt.
She began releasing lo-fi, ’80s-inspired tracks on SoundCloud under the name “Slater” before rebranding as Slayyyter in 2018 .
